I said I was going to do a video, but seeing that I’m having camera issues right now this blog post will have to do until further notice.
The main questions I’ve been getting since I started posting my weight loss photos are all about what I’ve been doing, and what’s my workout routine. Well, when I first hit the gym I go into the sauna. Now, if you’re like me and you like to take your phone into the gym with you, I suggest you be very careful about taking your phone into the sauna since the heat can really jack up your phone. However in my case I dropped my phone in the toilet last month so the sauna heat is that last of my worries.
The reason I hit the sauna [if it's not packed anyways] is because it’s a nice way to relax, clear my mind, stretch, and simply mentally prepare myself for my own personal ass kicking.
After the sauna I hit the cardio. I either do the bike, stairs or my favorite the “crossramp.” I never do the same one two days in a row [or at least I try not to] because your muscles need to rest.
After doing one of those 3 for 20-30 minutes I go work on either leg machines, or arm machines. I never do both, I always work on arms one day and legs the next. After I’m done there I do the bike to end the night and go home
Honestly, you could do the exact same workout as I do and not lose the same amount of weight if you’re simply not being consistent, or actually going hard in the gym for that matter. I find it funny when I’m at the gym and I see people working out on these machines and they don’t even break a sweat. PPPSSSHHHHH! If I had it my way, I would bring two coats to the gym and a change of clothes for when I leave because I sweat so much that even in my tight workout pants I somehow can still feel sweat dripping down my legs. The first time I seen sweat coming out of my arms I didn’t know what to think!
Target weight loss heart rate is 170, but I a lot of the times try to stay close to or above 180. Now I’m not saying having your heart rate at 180 or even 190 [which I hit last night and higher] is going to be comfortable LOL you’re going to have to push yourself, keep going, make sure you’re breathing properly and not holding your breath. It’s really about how bad do you really want it.
This coat it HUGE now if you can’t tell LOL
Personally I don’t need a trainer yelling in my ear and telling me to keep going and not to stop, because shit talking to your damn self can at times be a little more powerful. The mer thought of me being back at 205lbs is enough to keep me going!
Other little things I do at the gym:
-When working out on machines I always do 3 sets of 12
-When picking a good weight I like to find one that can make my muscles a little fatigued but not dead
-When I do cardio, no matter if I’m doing a quick 15 minute workout or 30, I never stop moving. You will never walk by my machine and see it say paused, or simply see me paused unless I’m done and moving onto the next machine.
-When doing the bike, I do “Random Hills” on level 10 or 11 *if you live in Seattle I use that setting when at the LA fitness in the Landing, if I go to the one in Fairwood, I’ll do a level 8 or 9*
-When doing the stairs I do weight loss level 5 but I’m working up to level 6 so its 60 percent level 6 and the other 40 is level 5
If I have anything else to add I’ll either do another post or simply add it to the bottom of this post.
