‘Didn’t your mama ever tell you that hard work and constancy pays off???’ -JanayNaybesa
I’ve been saying that I was going to do a weight loss update for I don’t know how long but here we go!
In case you need to be caught up on my journey, I’ve been working out since May 2012 and so far I’ve lost 35 pounds. I feel like a broken record saying this but seeing that people still ask I guess it’s necessary. The secret to how I’ve lost so much weight so quickly without dieting or taking weight loss supplements is simply consistency and hard work.
Just like anything else in life you want to succeed at, you have to work at it until it becomes second nature. At this point, working out is part of my lifestyle, so going to the gym 3 days a week; yes it’s for weight loss but it honestly just makes me feel good. Don’t get me wrong, I work a little harder when I have an event coming up that I want to look good for, but it’s truly not about the weight loss anymore. It’s really about my daily routine and simply feeling good about the way I look.
Sleep:
One thing I’ve noticed, is when I don’t workout I don’t sleep as well. It’s something about hitting the gym, coming home and going to bed after releasing whatever stress from that day that may have built up. I can definitely say I toss and turn a whole lot less.
Body pains:
One thing that might kind of sucks about working is the body aches. Personally I’ve grown to love them, and feel weird or even somewhat off when I don’t have them, however for most it’s a big discouragement when it comes to finishing that first week of going to the gym. I promise the first two weeks will be hard, but over time the pain lets up. No it never goes away, you’ll still go home limping from time to time however you won’t feel like someone needs to carry you out the gym all the time.
Once you can work through the pain and find your happy place there’s nothing stopping you but your own will to go workout.
-My face looks so little now LOL-
Shopping:
Yes! Shopping is so much more fun now because I don’t have to go to the big girl stores or be pissed because all the size 15s are gone; or the worst, the store simply not having your size. I’ve gone from always needing a 15-16 in pants to needing a 8-10 as for shirts I went from a large so a small/medium.
I never used to like to wear colors when it came to my clothes. But now I have red pants. I always hated how round my face was but now I love the way my face shape looks in a hat. For that matter I love my facial bone structure period now
No more fast food:
At this point I don’t have the desire for cheese burgers or fast food for that matter, not only does it make me feel sick but it’s pointless to workout of you’re going to eat that mess.
TMI moment but the only time I eat junk food is after a club event an I 9 out of 10 will just get fries, OR when I’m on my Mother Nature flow, and at that point I just eat whatever I want because my carving get a little out of pocket.
At this point, I don’t work out as hard as I used to because I’m pretty small now so I’m just trying to tone up and get my stomach the way I want it. That doesn’t mean I let myself go to the gym any less. It just means I’m not killing myself every time I workout anymore.
If you want to know what I do when I’m at the gym you can read here because I still do the same thing. My only request is that if you want to get in shape and change your fitness lifestyle, actually do it! It’s so easy to say you have a gym membership and not use it. It’s so easy to go to the gym and simply not do shit but say you were there. Make sure you actually push yourself, I feel no one can push me harder than me, so I push myself to my limit. However if you don’t push, and you just go to the gym and do a half ass workout no, you’re not going to lose the weight. I still keep my heart rate between 173-185 and I suggest you do the same if you want results.
I don’t really have much else of an update. I’m still getting used to the new way I look, half the time I take a photo and its like ‘that’s me?!?’ I’m honestly not sure when ill get used to the new way i look, but I’m finally getting comfortable with it.
For those of you that want to stay motivated with my fitness journey, follow me on Instagram because I post photos at the gym and before and after photos on there all the time.
Until next time, check out my before after photos, and make sure to follow me at Instagram/Naybesa
